About the position

 

We are hiring a Laboratory Director to join our dynamic team in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

 

Your Main Tasks:

Accreditation Management:

  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain laboratory
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and prepare the laboratory for regular audits and inspections
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality systems to meet accreditation standards
  • Serve as the primary contact for external regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies
  • Conduct internal audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement

Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Guide research projects from concept to execution, ensuring scientific rigor and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term strategies and budget planning for the laboratory

Research & Development (R&D):

  • Ensure R&D projects are aligned with the company's objectives and meet all regulatory requirements
  • Support the development and validation of new methods, tests, and technologies to improve laboratory performance
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between R&D, QA, production, and other departments

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement quality management systems to track laboratory performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing laboratory accuracy, efficiency, and safety
  • Collaborate with QA team to design and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage laboratory budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with business goals
  • Oversee procurement of laboratory equipment, reagents, and other resources, ensuring they meet required standards
  • Ensure the laboratory maintains proper inventory levels and manages supplies cost-effectively

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation, including lab reports, research findings, and quality assurance records
  • Ensure proper data management practices are followed, and that records are accurate and complete for audits and inspections

 

 

What We Expect from You:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry or related field)
  • Experience in a laboratory management role, preferred with a proven track record of achieving laboratory accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional projects
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems and other related software
  • Fluent in Russian, Uzbek and English at least B1-B2
